Relief Society

The motto of the Relief Society, taken from 1 Corinthians 13:8, is "Charity never faileth." The purpose of Relief Society reads, “Relief Society helps prepare women for the blessings of eternal life as they increase faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and His Atonement; strengthen individuals, families, and homes through ordinances and covenants; and work in unity to help those in need.

Embracing the timeless principle that 'Charity never faileth' (1 Corinthians 13:8), the Relief Society is a cherished sisterhood for women aged 18 and older. Our mission is twofold: to prepare God's children to return to His presence and to serve those in need.

Within the Buffalo Grove Stake, our sisters are actively living this principle through service projects that touch hearts and change lives. We have been a steadfast presence at the Libertyville Food Pantry. Just in July 2023, we served 340 households, reaching 756 individuals. Our dedicated sisters pack essential food items each month, providing vital support to those facing hunger. We have also recently crafted 'Bonding Hearts for Premature Babies in the Hospital,' offering comfort to little ones and their families. This heartwarming initiative is listed on JustServe.com, inviting everyone to join in spreading love. Our other service projects have included assembling birthday kits for foster children, creating cozy tied quilts for the Linus project, and collaborating with 'Feed My Starving Children' to combat hunger worldwide.

We invite you to be part of our circle of love and service, as together we strive to follow the example of Jesus Christ in our lives.
